This 141 pound striped marlin ate a Petrolero colored lure
at 2:30 p.m. on the 88 Bank off shore from La Paz Baja.
While changing clothes in his stateroom the yell of "Hook Up"
called The Dog" to quickly put
on his shorts and run to the cockpit and pick up his screaming rod and reel.
Most of the mono
line was gone by time he picked up the rod but with the first gaff missed he
managed to hold on and
successfully boat this marlin calling for two gaffs.
